Pattaya is a city located on the east shore of the Gulf of Thailand about 165 km southeast of Bangkok and can be reached in 2 hours by road.
It is within, but not under the jurisdiction of Amphoe Bang Lamung in the region of Chonburi. The city of Pattaya is a self-governing municipality that blankets the entire tambon of Nong Prue, Na Klua, parts of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai. It is part of the vigorously industrialized Eastern Seaboard zone, alongside Sri Racha, Laem Chabang and Chon Buri. It has a population of 556,916 which greatly increases if you consider tourists also. It covers an area of 49.37 sq km.
Pattaya City possesses a large proportion of the coastline of Banglamung (one of the 11 locale that include Chonburi Province). The
shoreline consists of four districts of the city. To the north is Naklua Beach and moving southwards Pattaya Central Beach. Then follows Pratumnak (Buddha Mountain) and furthest south the long stretch of Jomtien Beach.
PATTAYA CITY MIGHT BE PARTITIONED INTO 5 MAIN ZONES . THE FOLLOWING IS AN OUTLINE OF EACH ONE ZONE:
This is the region to the north of Pattaya Nua and is viewed as a more serene, business area and a generally new setting for condo improvement and development. Wong Amat Beach is viewed as the finest in Pattaya and gloats a few of the higher-end extravagance inns and condos. Limited beachfront land should ensure that prices increase in tandem with the popularity of this area from both Thais and foreigners.
This part is considered as the downtown area. The area of beach line from Central Road south to the pier incorporates the notorious Walking Street, which is considered by most as the most active of the various night time venues. Pattaya Nua and Klang are preferred by Asian guests, particularly Chinese and Koreans. An expansive number of expat locals also incline toward this area because of the ease of access and generally cheaper accommodation. The region of South Pattaya is more inclined towards Middle Eastern, South Asian and Russian guests. The area surrounding Soi 15, Second Road is enjoying a resurgence in popularity among purchasers, as although relatively quiet it is very easy to get to the City Center.
Situated between the City Center and Jomtien and has been given the nickname of ‘Beverley Hills’. Pratumnak is considered a prestigious, quiet location with a mix of extravagance manors, low-density townhouses and more recently high quality high rise condominiums. The Pratumnak region offers two shores, Cozy Beach and Had U Thong, which are popular with Russian and Scandinavian guests. Limited availability of land and desirability of the area should ensure that property prices in Pratumnak will steadily rise.
Jomtien Beach is approximately 1 km south of Pratumnak Hill. The region is more re-known for high-rise condominiums, beachfront hotels, shops and restaurants,. The territory at the start of Jomtien is considered busier, while the part further south, known as Na Jomtien, is considered to be substantially more serene and less congested.
Na Jomtien Beach is south of Jomtien and in the main does not have a beachfront street and thus less developed. Despite this fact, due to the calmness & the natural beauty of this area there are now many up market residential developments & 5 star hotels such as the beachfront Centara Grand Na Jomtien by the prestigious Tulip Group. It is mainly approached via the Sukhumvit Road, although the more newly constructed Jomtien Second Road has certainly made things simpler. This region stretches out as far as Ban Amphoe Beach in Sattahip District.
